Genevieve holding the foot of her 2025 Maine Black Bear!
See below so you can join us and other Friends of Bunjie in the Maine woods!
Bunjie is happy to announce that we are doing this again! There are limited spots available for this hunt, but the good news is we have twice as much space as last year!
This video from last year’s Bear Bash has a good review of the Lodge. You won’t see a more beautiful spot to spend a week. Fish, hike, relax, eat some of the best food ever, get away from it all…it’s the best and we’re going to really Bear Bash it up this year! Bear Camp is a special experience, and we help each other sight in, track bears, and have a good time. We make some great friends in each bear camp we attend, and you will, too.
WHERE: We will stay on Fish River Lake at Moose Point Lodge (hunting to take place all over the region). The video above gives you a great idea of all that the lodge offers, but watch the whole playlist to get the whole hunting experience! Our hosts are some of the nicest people ever!
WHEN: Arrive Sunday the 6th of September. Hunt Monday through Friday. Leave Saturday the 12th of September, 2026.
WHAT: Hunt Maine Black Bears, of course!
HOW MUCH: Total cost per hunter is $2,861.00 which includes tax, all the food, lodging, and the guide transportation, hauling out the bears, etc. Hopefully that includes Celebratory Pizza for all of us on Friday night!
The only thing not included in that price is any tip for your guide, and the bear processor if you choose to take your bear to town. Genevieve and I will have tools and a table with us to process if you want to do it that way. Depending on weather, we might do that ourselves. You’ll need a Maine hunting license, also, which will run about $100, details on that later. Also a fishing license if you’re gonna fish!
TAXIDERMY: Of course, Genevieve can handle some bears! You can always have your own taxidermist handle any trophy. ANY BEAR makes a great rug or mount—and the food a fall Maine black bear provides is, in my limited opinion, the best wild game there is. I love it! And we’re sure YOU will, too!
HOW TO SIGN UP: Fill out this form and we’ll be in touch! Filling out this form does not mean you are obligated to go and does not mean you’ll be picked. Space is limited. This form is just intended to start a dialogue and gauge interest in this trip. So, what are you waiting for? Fill out the form and let’s get started!
Also, don’t worry about your answers. None of the questions here mean you get picked or you don’t. I’m really looking to just figure out who is interested, and get an overall group together that will have fun together. That said, there are two things that are kind of mandatory: this is a hunt for crossbow hunters (using legal crossbow gear). Also, we have a no jerks policy: by submitting this form, you have to agree that you’ll try to help make sure everyone in Bear Camp has a good time and feels welcome. We’ve done a few Meat & Greets over the years and we work very hard to make sure everyone has a great time.
