LISTEN TO YANKEEMILITIA

Death by Bunjie’s Soundtrack: Yankee Militia!

Yankee Militia is an American classic rock band out of Bradford County, Pennsylvania. It was founded by its sole member, Richard A. Wilson (yes, the same Rich Wilson from Death by Bunjie). It’s Northern Rock at its finest!

Where did the name come from? Every year, 750,000 people enter Penn's Woods to hunt deer. That's an army of hunters larger than the armies of all but five countries on Earth--one heck of a militia. Add that to the fact that we're Yankees, and you get the idea.

To foreigners, a Yankee is an American.
To Americans, a Yankee is a Northerner.
To Northerners, a Yankee is an Easterner.
To Easterners, a Yankee is a New Englander.
To New Englanders, a Yankee is a Vermonter.
And in Vermont, a Yankee is somebody who eats pie for breakfast.
--attributed to E.B. White

I write songs about what I know, what I believe, and what I like: hunting and the outdoors, liberty, freedom, and enjoying life in the country. The themes of adapting to change and appreciating your roots make an appearance, too. The classic rock sound of a Strat run through a Plexi or the Hammond strained through a Leslie may sound dated. I understand that my songs have lyrics that lack broad appeal or even seem childish to some listeners. But, thankfully, we are living in what I consider the Golden Age of Music. It is what I call the "Era of Niche Music"--today, it is possible for us to truly express ourselves and find an audience who identifies with a narrow, refined "niche" of self-expression. In the end, that's what this is all about: self-expression.

Live Free or Kill is the first album from this band and includes the theme song, “Death by Bunjie."

The follow-up album, Zombies Gotta Eat, Too!, contains plenty of other favorites from the Death by Bunjie show.

Both are available on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, and more!
