Inserts for Heavier Arrows (or "Bolts," If You Prefer)

Genevieve ahd a successful season in 2021, that’s for sure. That’s great, especially since she started off with a busted limb on Bunjie, Jr.!

Yep, that’s a nice buck. She shot that all by herself. But can at least take credit for the arrow in the picture, haha! With Genevieve’s help, I cut down my 20” ProFlight arrows and turned them into a heavier 16 ½ arrow with a brass insert.

That’s a good looking arrow, red and all! What you can’t see is the 110 grain brass insert that increased the FOC (Front Of Center) and increased the penetration, too! Also helps with accuracy and limb life. What’s not to like?

Be sure to order the right size for you arrows! There are .297” and .300” that are popular crossbow sizes, and they aren’t really interchangeable. Plus, there are some smaller diameter arrows gaining popularity amongst crossbow manufacturers, so watch out for those, too. A good micrometer is a handy tool, and be sure to get one that reads into the thousandths

The micrometer above is very similar to the one I have. Gotta read to the thousandths…that’s three digits to the right of the decimal point, like you see in this picture. You don’t have to buy this one, but one like it, in my opinion.
